Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
Civil Suit after the statute of limitations
Under what circumstances can a civil
case be filed in Virginia for a case of
wrongful death (murder) caused
committed in 1964 against the
officials and/of agency for which the
perpetrators were employed? I was
ignorant of any statue of limitations
until recently. I was a child when my
father was killed and only
determined to pursue it now.
Professional review of the autopsy
clearly evidences cover-up and
witnesses' reports support murder.

Re: Civil Suit after the statute of limitations
I see no basis for you now pursuing such a case for wrongful death based upon the facts and circumstances which you've recounted here in your question and some 41 years after the applicable statute of limitations for this particular tort action would've expired.
