A Class U felony is one whose formal classification has yet to be determined.
A Class 1 misdemeanor is the one which carries the heaviest possible penalties
of all the misdemeanor offenses enumerated under Title 18.2 of the Code of Virginia, i.e., up to 12 months in the local jail or a fine of up to $2500, either or both(upon conviction).
