Can I appeal to have guily charge for shop-lifting class 1 misdemeandor removed from record, so that it doesn't show up on a job search. Charge from 2005

It may be possible for you to have the record of this misdemeanor conviction expunged if you have no other criminal convictions and the Commonwealth doesn't have "just cause" to oppose it. See Va. Code Sec. 19.2-392.2(C).
