Re: Class 1 misdemeanor.

Sec. 18.2-346(B)of the Virginia Criminal Code is the offense known as solicitation of prostitution

which you've accurately identified as a Class 1 misdemeanor and therefore a jailable offense.(Fine up to $2500, jail up to 12 months, either or both.)

You need not be concerned about the prosecutors calling your employer. They will not(nor have any need)to do so in this type of case. Nevertheless, to ensure that you secure the optimal disposition of your case which may allow you to escape from this legal contretempts without a record of conviction, you should

have an appropriately experienced criminal defense counsel representing you in this matter.

If you cannot afford to hire such on your own then you should ask the court having jurisdiction over this matter to appoint one for you.
