How serious is a class 1 misdemeanor 18.2-137 and 4.1-305 in Virginia..can you receive jail time for this?

Va. Code Sec. 18.2-137 B--destruction of property, memorial or monument, and
classified as a Class 1 misdemeanor offense, upon conviction carries a possible penalty of up to 1 year in jail, a fine of up to $2500, either or both.
Va. Code Sec. 4.1-305--violation of ABC (Alcohol Beverage Control) laws, is also classified as a Class 1 misdemeanor but prescribes only a mandatory
fine of $500 or 50 hours of community service for one convicted of this offense
and suspension of his or her privilege to drive for at least 6 six months
but not more than 1 year.
