This criminal statute refers to obtaining under false pretenses money or other property of value under circumstances synonymous with the crime of larceny or by procuring the signature of another under circumstances that otherwise would equate with forgery.
If this crime has been initially charged as a U(unclassified) felony, it's likely it could end up as a Class 6 felony, carrying a possible penalty of one to up to five years in the state penitentiary, a fine of up to $2500, either or both, or in the discretion of the judge or jury trying the matter, jail time of up to 12 months, a fine of $2500, either or both.
