Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
I was convicted of a federal drug charge (possession w/intent to distribute in 1999; served 48 months in prison, and 5 yrs supervised release which ended march 2007. It is holding me back from getting good jobs. How can i go about getting it expunged off my record since i have completed supervised release and the jail time and have no fines to pay?

Apparently, there is now no formal procedure under applicable federal law to expunge records of convictions of federal crimes.
One may apply to the federal Office of the Pardon Attorney in the Justice Department to receive
a pardon from the president, but apparently even if such a pardon is granted, the record of the federal conviction for which a pardon is obtained will still remain.
See http://www.doj.gov/pardon/ for further information.
