Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

What is the cost of the Expungement of records?

I have read questions asked about expungement of charges from court records. It appears it is not a problem if the case has been dismissed or the person has been found not guilty. What is the cost involved in getting this done? What is the procedure if you are not using a lawyer to help? Is it as simple as going to the county clerk's office, or is there more involved than that?

Every state has different laws. If you are seeking advice about VA law, I can't help you. If you're talking about IL, law I can help you. It's not as easy as going to the clerk's office. A court appearance or 2 is involved, as well as filing the proper documents. Please call for a free consultation if you are inquiring about an IL expungement.
