Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
Court Decision
My daughter was originally sentenced to 20 months in prison for uttering (check writing). After some other occurrences, the judge reviewed the case and sentenced the remainder of her time to a drug rehabilitation center. My question is: Is there any length of time set for this new sentence to be carried out? The sentence was made on 9/23/03 and she still has not been removed from jail to the rehabilitation center. They are waiting on a bed, but again my question is, is there any time limits that have to be met as far as getting her a bed?

Re: Court Decision
Your question should be directed to the defense counsel who, presumably, representerd her in this matter, but the likely answer is, probably not.
