Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
I have a court ordered judgement against me from September 1999. It was given in a federal trial where I was conviced. Please tell me how long that judgement will remain in effect. I was once told it was only in effect for 10 years unless it was renewed. I never received notification that it was renewed.
So do I have to be notified and how would it have happened,. Where do I go to see if it was renewed. Then is it in effect for more than 10 years?
Thank you for your help.

Go to the clerk's office (civil division) of the federal court where this
judgment was supposedly entered and see whether there's a record of it
in the court's judgment lien database.
I am not aware of any requirement that the judgment creditor must notify the
judgment debtor(you in this case) in order to renew a judgment.
