Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
I went to court and the person pressing charges did not show up, so the Judge gave me a "nolle prosequi".
Can they still bring that charge against me? If yes, is there a staute of time in which that can happen or it is possible forever? I was told that for one year from the date that I was given a "nolle prosequi", the charges can still be brought back against me.
After that time, they can not.

Yes, you were told correctly if the charge was a misdemeanor offense.
