The crime of brandishing a firearm (such as likely to induce fear in the mind of another)is found at Sec. 18.2-282.1 of the Commonwealth's Criminal Code and is classified as a Class 1 misdemenaor,signifying that it is punishable by a fine of up to $2500 and up to 12 months in jail, either or both.
