Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

criminal and civil rights violation

my friend was arrested and not mirandized. She was also not allowed to call anyone. She is a substitute teacher at the school. she would not give the name of a minor who told her that there was to be a gang fight, fearing for the safety of the young person. she did give the date and location of the fight as it was told to her. she was handcuffed at the school and taken to the station. she goes to court on the 5th and has good reason to fear for the girls safety as this gang has been responsible for execution style murders. she was arrested for obstruction of justice. does she have to give up that name? what should she do next.

Obstruction of justice, under these circumstances? No, I don't think so, but your friend would be well advised to retain the services of a competent defensel counsel to represent her in this criminal matter which appears to have somehow gone badly awry in her disfavor.
