Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

Daughter got arrested in another county

A litte over 1 year ago she was arrested for poss. of marijuana finished up community svc and probation. She was just arrested again for a Class 4 and 5 felonies 2 hours away at the state pen. Her arraignment is tomorrow morning. Do we leave her in jail to count as time towards her charge? I would ask one more thing. Is there anyway we could have the convictions moved to her county? If so, what do I do? I just don't know where to go, we do not have a lot of money handy.

Re: Daughter got arrested in another county

If your daughter has been charged with felonies, she need an attoney ASAP. If she(or you)cannot afford to hire one then she should request that the court appoint one to represent her.

The attorney would make the decision as to whether it would be appropriate to request a change of venue (where the cases are dealt with).
