Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

My daughter was arrested in Nov for shop lifting for the amount amount 40.00 .. She never got a attorney went to court Dec 21st plead guilty got sentenced 300 fine 1 yr unsupervised probation, The next day the 22 of December, the day after she went to court she got caught shop lifting again this time for 279 charged with larceny, a felony, what should we do she is a drug addict and bi polor , she hasnt been able to get het mediciation and was self medicating herself. She needs help , she doesnt have a lot of money but has had and still has job for the past 4 yrs. Since she has never had any kind of crimminal charges in the past,What can we do?, to keep her out of jail, she is a good kid just has mental health problems, The1st was at a grocery store the 2 time Belks. she did tell the cops she did, it ,the coherced her.What is the next step?, she is going to try and get money but how long can you drag it out and can you tell me what kind of time she is facing or can she ask for probation and drug treatment.Her court date on this 2nd charge is court date is Jan 4, will they lock her up please tell me what I can do, This was in in fredreick county help me please

You really should hire an attorney. There may be constitutional issues regarding her confession.

A felony is very serious. Especially when it involves a crime of moral turpitude. Get her professional pschiatric/ psychological help and bring proof to court. Get her medications is it will help. Is the first hearing a preliminary hearing? Has she been arraigned? Will she be charged with violation of first charge. Not enough information.
