Double Jeopardy

If a person is tried and found not guilty of a crime, can they ever be tried for that same offense again, even if new evidence is discovered after the acquittal?

The simple answer to your broad question is no, you can not be tried for the same offense, even if new information is discovered. However, the situational facts will determine as to whether double jeopardy attaches.
