can a downsyndrome adult with dementia have a relative interpret her testimony

in a court case were the alleged victim is an adult 52 year old downsyndrome with dementia and speech problems have her testimony against her alleged attacker interpreted by her family. or would this be allowed by a judge. the case is of a so called sexual nature yet to be determined.
