DUI and Hit and Run charges/punishment

We just learned this morning that our 24 year old son has been charged with DUI and hit and run--hit a car and left the scene. We can't get any information from the jail. What can we expect in the way of bond/punishment?

Personal recognizance bond he should get by Monday morning(assuming he's a resident of the Commonwealth and has no prior record).

Punishment/penalty/sentence is another matter entirely and will depend on many factors, including your son's prior record referenced above.

In any event, for serious criminal charges such as these, your son should have an attorney representing him ASAP.
