Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

Email Invasion, Stalking and Slander

I am recently divorced, live in Northern Virginia and work in DC. My ex-wife lives in western Virginia.

Recently, she hacked into my work email (in DC) and saw that I had been in email contact with a lady I've been dating. She then sent a (disguised-identity) email to my lady friend and accused me of a number of false things ''in the interest of 'protecting' her from me.''

Is any of the above illegal? If so, to whom should I file a complaint?

Is what she has done stalking? Is it illegal?

In general (I know you need more detail) might I have grounds for a slander lawsuit?

Re: Email Invasion, Stalking and Slander

No, I doubt that anything which you've described here would at this point be actionable, either criminally or civilly.
