Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
Embelzzlement charge
I recently recieved a charge of embezzlement from a previous employer. I have been falsely accused of this charge. I do have a previous felony conviction, and currently on probation for this conviction. My question is will I be charged with a probation violation before the verdict in the new charge? If yes, will there be a seperate bond, or will they not give me a bond at all? I do have jail time suspended from the past conviction. Thank you for your time on answering my question.

Re: Embelzzlement charge
If you are still under a suspended sentence for a previous crime and are convicted of a new crime then you can be Show Caused for violating the terms of that suspended sentence, one of which is to obey all laws. You will not be show caused until you are convicted.
Once you are Show Caused, you are entitled to a lawyer and can have a bond hearing just like any other charge.

Good Luck.
