Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

Expungement

7 years ago I was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. I fulfilled all requirements for the first offender in Virginia, including rehab, community service and probation. The disposition of my case was supposed to have the charges dropped. (The field I worked in required no felony convictions, so that's why I agreed to a plea agreement). Last year I applied for a job and the arrest showed up but not the final disposition of the case. How can I make sure any police or FBI records reflect that and since no conviction occurred, how can I get the arrest expunged from my record? I am unable to be employed by some places simply because of the lack of disposition of the arrest.

Re: Expungement

You may be able to have your record of arrest expunged under Va. Code Sec. 19.2-392.2 et seq. as a first time offender with apparently no record of a conviction.
