Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
False statements, etc.,
I was served with a summons to appear in court for a Class 1 Misdemeanor for 60.2-632. This is my first ever offense. If I pay back the overpayment in full do you think the charges could be dropped? I'm really scared about serving jail time.

Re: False statements, etc.,
Whether any charges currrently pending against you
would be either reduced or dismissed entirely in return for your agreement to pay back whatever you improperly received in unemployment benefits, would be up to the prosecutor's office.
