federal perjury laws
Federal agents ask me a few question at my home and told me Iwasn't under arrest or in trouble but ask me did I give a certain person a ride home on a night a major crime occured,was I under oath?

No, you were not under oath, but under Sec. 18-1001(2) of the United States Code, if you gave a materially false or fictitious statement or representation to the agents, you (like Martha Stewart)could be fined and be sentenced up to five years in a federal penitentiary.
