Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
I have a felony shoplifting on my record, for something priced at $263. The laws in Virginia just changed from $200 to $500 for felony shoplifting. Am I able to get my charge reduced to a misdemeanor now that the law has changed or.......?

No, I would guess not, unless there's a provision in the new law that provides
for a retroactive adjustment in the record of your felony conviction to a misdemeanor offense.
