Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
Well he fired the lawyer because the judge sentenced him to 25 yrs for breaking and entering with intent to do bodily harm, possession of firearms as a felon, and communicating threats. He(offender) feels as if the sentence was too harsh and I agree because it wasn't a fair trial. He was basically clueless w/o his lawyer present and she threw him to the wolves when she didn't arrive on time. He has already served over 5yrs of his sentence and has appealed the case with a different lawyer, but when the lawyer agreed to take his case he promised to have the papers in front of the supreme court on time. Of course he didn't and that was the only reason he could not get an appeal. He believes that he has ran out of options. He wants his sentence reduced. Is there ANYTHING else u could recommend us to try.

No, way too late now; the convicted one has by now run out of realistic options (in my opinion).
