Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

can you ever have food stamp fraud expunged from your record ?

I am trying to get a job and I am having problems when they pull my criminal record up. I received a felony in Virginia, back in 96 for food stamp fraud. I repaid back all my fines and owe nothin else but now the actual felony is stopping me from getting a good job. Is there a way that I can get this removed?

No, the record of your felony conviction in Virginia cannot be expunged(removed)unless you can prove that you were wrongfully convicted of the offense and in consequence have received a pardon from the governor. (Va Code Sec. 19.2-392.2 et seq.)
