Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
forgery of a public document
what classification of felony is it? The sentence was community service, will this exclude someone from employment? Especially in education? The ''Public document'' was a traffic ticket which the ticketed person signed a name other than his own (Deceased brother, whom the lisc. was issued to. This happened 7yrs. ago...and counting.

Re: forgery of a public document
Could be a class 5 felony. (See Va. Code Sec. 18.2-172) I regret to report that any felony conviction these days can be a huge impediment to getting any kind of decent job (at least in my opinion).
