Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
Fraud?
My husband worked for a company 7 months ago and they have not paid us. The total is around $30,000. It was under a verbal agreement, and invoices were sent by email and accepted over the phone. There were witnesses to the acceptances and invoices. They have refused to answer our calls and emails for months even though in a letter they stated that it was not their intention to withhold funds. They are claiming that a lot of the work was supposed to be as ''a favor'' when that was not the case. We are wondering if we can take them to court for fraud.

Re: Fraud?
You should consider hiring an attorney and take them to court ASAP. Sounds more like breach of contract than fraud, which is hard to prove. Feel free to contact me if you need further help or a referral in your area. Good luck.
