Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
my gf 's step dad is always grabbing/grinding and say sexual things to her an it is really making her uncomfortable , she feels that since she is 18 there is nothing that can be done , is that true?
can a legal action be taken?

No. it is not true. However, before thinking about legal action, I would suggest that girlfriend have a relative such as, perhaps, her mother speak sternly to this groping--obscenity mouthing step-dad and give him notice in no uncertain
terms that he must immediately CEASE and DESIST from this
kind of behaviour---or a Sheriff's deputy or other local law
enforcement official may come calling.
