Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
my girlfriend called the police and told them ihit her which is not true. the police office filed a assault complaint against me. if my girlfriend does not show up to court will the charge be dropped? and if not how can it be dropped?

Only the prosecutor's office (normally) can make such a decision,
but if their chief witness fails to appear for the trial,
it will be difficult for them to go forward with the prosecution
of the matter.
