if a grand jury found me guitly and reccommended a 31 year sentance can the judge suspend some time

Re: if a grand jury found me guitly
A grand jury could not find you guilty; only that you should be indicted for a particular serious crime or crimes(normally felonies).
However, if a judge or jury happened to find you guilty of such a crime after a trial, the factfinder(either judge or jury), after considering any mitigating factors which might be applicable to your case, would have the discretion to suspend part of the sentence that would be recommended under the state sentencing guidelines.
