Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
Grand Larcency
Can someone still be convicted of grand larceny when the victim does not want to press charges and told the detective this and he still went and scared the person to death and they confessed. Also there was an accomplice and why isn't she being charged. Also part of the merchandice stolen has disappeared from the jail and has not been signed out.

Re: Grand Larcency
The decision to go forward with the prosecution of a grand larceny charge is not up to the victim but to the prosecutor's office. The office of the Commonwealth's Attorney in charge of the prosecution of this case would also be the one to respond to the other issues which you've raised in your question.
