The prosecutor might ask the judge for the issuance of what's called " A Rule against the Witness", a kind of summons for you to appear before the Court to
explain the reason(s) for your non-appearance.

The judge could issue a show cause summons against you. You would be required to appear before the judge and show cause why you should not be fined or imprisoned for not appearing. The judge could fine you or put you in jail for up to 10 days.
