Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
Hi,
I am 27 years old and back when I was 19 i stole something and got misdemeanor petty larceny charge. That is the worst charge a person can get. That was my first time and has not gotten into any trouble since then. I have trouble finding jobs now because of that. I live in the state of Virginia. I am wondering, is there some way I can get this charge expunged from my record or sealed for employment? And if this happens do I have to state I had this done, if asked?

Assuming that you were convicted of this charge, it is, unfortunately, not expungeable under current Virginia law. (See Va. Code Sec. 19.2-392.2 et seq.)
