Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

My husband and I left our kids in the car to get a few items from costco, when we came back officers were waiting for us and said they have been there for 15 min. We were given court appearences for contributing to the delinquency of a minor. What could happen to us? Boys are 7, 6 and 19 months. The tolddler fell asleep and we didnt want to wake him.

If the two of you are convicted, it would most likely be of a misdemeanor offense for which you would probably receive probation with conditions and a suspended jail sentence.

Needless to say, both you and your husband should be represented individually

by experienced criminal defense counsel.
