Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
I would like to know how jail time is calulated for a person who was convicted of a non violent felony, and received 9 months, with 3 months probation? The DOC website says 4.5 days for each 30 days served, but some people say it is 50%. I can not get a definitive answer and the local court won't tell me HOW it is calculated. Thanks

No way can it be 50% off for good behaviour in felony cases where
the DOC has custody of the body.
4.5 days for each 30 days of DOC incarceration time served seems much closer to the mark.
