If I had a misd. shoplifting charge 10 yrs ago and did not put it on a resume recently will it show on a background check, can I get into trouble for not putting it down. It was a plea agreement with 1 yr probation.

Yes, given the extensive data bases which are kept these days by various governmental agencies as well as private entities, it's possible that your 10 year old conviction might show up on a search of one or more of these.
As for any trouble that you might get in to for not listing it, I would think that that would likely depend upon the particular application that you were submitting that had requested the information which you had then failed to disclose.
