Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
jury trial
a relative of my mine recently had a jury trial. The incident that was trialed took place at a night club owned by an organization. One of the jurors is a member of the organization, was a friend of the subpeoned witness (another organization member that was a close friend of the victims family), and lied when asked by the court when asked if he resided in close proximity to the place of the incident (he lives within a mile). Is that grounds for a mistrial/ new trial? What can be done? Please help...

Re: jury trial
Yes, it very well could be (grounds for mistrial) once these incidents of alleged juror misconduct are brought to the presding court's attention.
