Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

Knowledge of cocaine a crime?

I was in my car with my boyfriend and the cops came to the window and asked him to step out of the car they found crack and a gun in my car under his seat. There was an anoymous tip stating that a man and his girlfriend were dealing drugs out of a gray nissan altima with large chrome rims. The tipster said where we lived and that we had a baby. The arresting office said I made a statement that ''theres guns and drugs in the hotel'' I never made any statement. My lawyers said I should take a plea possesion by accomadtion and child endagerment (they found more drugs and guns in the hotel and our child was with his uncle when we were arrested). I have my doubts b/c a judge told my boyfriend that he cant charge him with child endagerment when he wasn't in the room with the child. Another judge said at his brothers trial that having knowledge of drugs is not a crime.I already told my lawyer that I would take the plea b/c the prosecutor said I had to make my decision by a certain date me not know that it was the week before my boyfriends brothers trial. Should I go to trial or take the plea? Should I have a judge or jury trail? I feel like I'm being screwed over can somebody please help me.

Re: Knowledge of cocaine a crime?

My long standing advice to my criminally charged clients is as follows: Never agree to plead guilty to a crime which you did not commit.

Probably a jury trial, but you should consult your lawyer on this issue.
