Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

Do I need a lawyer for my vehicle tampering case (prosecuting side)

I have been harassed by my neighbor for over a year, and now the harassment has become both threatening and destructive. I made a statement with my local county magistrate, and they issued an arrest warrant for vehicle tampering and scheduled a court date. This is based on all the harassment that has occurred and video surveillance that I have collected of the tampering.

My question is whether I need a lawyer? If I employ a lawyer, can they help me argue my case in court, or will they just help me with formulating my evidence when I testify in the case?

Thanks for all your help.

As this is apparently a criminal case, your lawyer will be the prosecutor assigned who will be doing whatever "arguing" that may be required in behalf of the people of the Commonwealth.

Your role in this matter should be limited to that of chief witness for the Commonwealth.
