Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
Lawyer will not return calls or visit client
What should be my next step? I have paid an attorney for represenation for my 16 year old cousin the attroney has not followed up with contacting any witness given. He and his paraplegal will not call me/nor anyone in my family back in regards to case. He has not visited client who is in jail. Numerous calls have been left and the only time we speak is the day of court (in the morning) stating he needs more money. I have requested a monthly reciept for services provided but they will not provide this either.

If all that you claim is true, this attorney should be fired immediately and replaced with new, more responsive counsel.
