Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
if I leave my physically abusive husband in new york and go to virginia can I file and order of protection there? Because I know he will come there once he knows that I am there.

Yes, you could file for a CPO (Civil Protection Order) in the Commonwealth,
but you would still have to have a verified address at which the defendant/respondent could be properly served with notice of the pending matter
in order for the case to proceed forward in the appropriate court of the Commonwealth.
