Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
Legal knife blade length vs. concealment
In Virginia, is there a blade length that is considered illegal, even if it is not concealed? I know there are places like church, schools, and courts that they are not allowed. Can the knife exceed 3'' in length and be sheathed on a belt in plainview?

Re: Legal knife blade length vs. concealment
Generally you can carry a weapon in places where it is legal to possess them. Many laws apply to place where it is not permitted. Generally you should read the following statutes. Do a web search for the Virginia Code and look up sections 18.2-282.1, 18.2-308 and 18.2-308.1.
Good luck.
