Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

I lied to the cops and now I need legal advice. I know stupid.

A little background:The incident happened about two months ago at an on campus party. Out of the 30 people, only 5 people (including me) were convicted because we hid in a bathroom while the place was being busted. The brilliance doesn't stop there. In my drunken stupor I decided it would be worth a shot to tell the university cops not only that I was not a student at the university, but I gave a false name also. They found out quickly and I confessed on the spot, but NEVER admitted to drinking.

So the urgent questions I have are:

Do I need a lawyer?

What's the worst case scenario? For pleading innocent and making a plea bargain.

Will it look bad if my partners in crime have lawyers and I don't?

The trial is next week so PLEASE give me any information I would find useful.

Yes, you need an attorney who will be best positioned to answer your

other questions after s/he has had an adequate opportunity to become

acquainted with the relevant facts----as they may apply to your particularized

situation.

If the trial is scheduled to commence next week, this attorney will need to

file a motion for a continuance in your behalf. (You should hope that

you have not waited too long to hire this counsel and that the court

therefore may decide to deny this request for a continuance, particularly,

if your co-defendants are ready to proceed with the trial as scheduled.)
