Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
I live in Fairfax VA and me and my roommates all share a house that we have all signed one lease. One of the roommates smokes weed. We had originally told him to smoke anywhere but the house but he has continually ignored us. What would be the legal repercussions if he is caught smoking at the house we all have our names on. And two since we live in the Washington dc suburbs will this effect us in a securty clearance whatsoever

Yes, it's conceivable that one or more of you non-smoking housemates could become entangeled with charges precipitated by the weed-smoker. That does not mean that you would necessarily be convicted but you might find yourselves charged.
A record of conviction for Marijuana possession which is not expunged could affect one's eligibility for a security clearance (in my opinion).
Possession of drugs such as marijuana can be charged as a misdemeanor and/or felony depending on the circumstances of the case. Large amounts of the substance may lead to a distribution charge. People may be charged jointly for these offenses. A conviction will not be expunged in Virginia in most circumstances. Driving priveleges can be revoked with drug convictions. Keep away from drugs. One's eligibility for a security clearance can very easily be effected.
