Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
I live in Virginia and my daughter was recently arrested and is currently in jail. She is also being charged with violation of pre-trial. When I went online to look at her charges, the violation of pre-trial is not listed as a separate charge, but instead I found it under her pending grand larceny charge and instead of being listed as "custody" she was listed as fugitive. How can she be a fugitive when she is currently in jail. I'm very confused. I have always considered a fugitive as someone running or hiding from charges or jail.

Yes, your daughter apparently violated the conditions for her pretrial release on
bond for her pending grand larceny charge and thereby was declared a fugitive
by the court having jurisdiction over this matter.
However, now that she's apparently been apprehended and is now in custody,
will undoubtedly soon have her new status updated and reflected online as currently being held in custody.
