Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
How long can the sheriffs office keep your property without charging you or even letting you know the status of the investigation?
The sheriffs office took my computers in early Sept. Of 2012 for investigation of child porn. They still have them and have neither charged me or returned the property. Am I supposed to be in limbo for the rest of my life, or can I get my property back in a reasonable time?
