Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
I lost my job and several checks from my checking account bounced and I don't want the stores to take me to court and give me a criminal charge. I recently started working and I would like to pay on the checks until I have them payed off.AsLong as I am making a effort to resolve the debt, will the stores most likely still take me to court? What steps should I take. Your response is greatly appreciated.

Call each store and see whether they'll accommodate your request.(There is no way to predict how each will react to your request; some might agree while others may not.)
It is a good idea to telephone the billing dept. at the stores and determine if you can resolve the issue. Be extremely careful regarding your statements. They may be used against you later in a court of law.
