Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

My youngest child (13) brought a little piece of pot to school, showed a friend, then threw it away. A parent called the principal and my child admitted to having it. She got kicked out of school and the school charged her with possession of m.
My younger child admitted to obtaining it from my oldest child (15)
and admitted to smoking it at my home while I was away.
What should I expect to happen to the children, and myself from the police?
