Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
hello, my name is Mary and i need your help.
in 2001, i was in court for disobeying of police officer. the judge gave me a fine of $700 and weekend jail time of 10 days. i was 7 months pregnant at the time and did not do my jail time. i tried setting up payments but the clerk was that i had to do my jail time first.
so my question is this
what can i do to fix everything?
p.s. i have 3 children to care for now. i dont have anyone that will help me with them.
thanks

assuming this was a misdemeanor, you probably had some suspended time. If you did not show up to do your 10 days, the court will very likely give you all of the suspended time. Your best bet is to have a good reason for not showing up.
